Our college is making major cuts just now & they are getting rid of both the CSW posts. They think they will be better off buying in interpreters!!! The reason they gave was there isn't the demand for us, but we know there is at least 5 applications in for next term from deaf learners!!!! 
The duties we do for the learners outside the class (accommpaning them to meetings, providing support, modifying course work, delivering deaf awareness) won't be done by interpreters. Plus will they get the same interpreter everyday & build up the same relationship they have with us!! Are the college managers thinking about the deaf learners??!! I think not!!!
